Chief Information Security Officer at Bank of America
Kristopher (Kris) Fador is the Chief Information Security Officer for Bank of America. Kris leads the Global Information Security (GIS) team that defends Bank of America against cybersecurity threats. In addition, the GIS team partners closely with global and national industry and government associations to ensure the cybersecurity of the entire sector.
Kris leads approximately 3,600 professionals from 18 countries who are dedicated to protecting the financial data of Bank of America and its clients, across all lines of business and geographies. The GIS team is comprised of thought leaders and industry experts, with inventors having filed or been granted more than 1,200 cybersecurity patents.
Based in Charlotte, Kris has also worked in Chicago, Hong Kong and New York, serving in a variety of leadership roles covering Cybersecurity Operations, Cybersecurity Defense, Cybersecurity Assurance, Cyber Crime Prevention and the Business Information Security Office.
Kris is the Chair of Board of Directors of The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC). He also serves on the Management Committee of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC). Kris is a passionate advocate for closing the gender gap in technology and serves as co-executive sponsor of Bank of America’s Women in Technology & Operations group, having previously co-chaired the employee advocacy group. Kris is also Bank of America’s Market Sponsor for its North Carolina Triad region.
Kris is a graduate of Lake Forest College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and History.
